Office wall chart
Some sheds want the fortnight on the wall the supervisor already walks past, not in a folder. The office wall chart is a single large sheet of cloth meters for a period you choose, mounted with copper corners.
Who it is for
Mill offices that already have a loom-shift reading, or that keep a clean enough book for us to draw the wall sheet directly.
What you receive
A mounted paper chart on the office wall, readable from a few steps back. The sheet shows cloth meters by loom for the agreed period.
Inside the commission
- A measuring visit to the office wall
- The large sheet, drawn from a book or from a loom-shift chart we have already made
- Mounting with copper corners
- A short look with the supervisor after it is up
Outside the commission
- Framed glass, lighting, and repainting the office
- Weekly replacement sheets unless a retainer is agreed in writing
- Numbers that are not in the book or in a prior chart of ours
How the work proceeds
- MeasureWe measure the clear wall, note the lamp, and check that the door does not swing into the sheet.
- DrawThe sheet is drawn at the studio at the size the wall can hold. Fine detail that will not read from the doorway is left off.
- MountWe mount the sheet on site. If the wall is damp, we say so and wait rather than glue paper to it.
What to have ready
Clear the wall of old notices before the measuring visit. If this follows a loom-shift chart, have that set in the office.
The fee depends on sheet size, the length of the period, and travel if the mill is outside Bangkok. We quote before drawing. Damp walls and walls in full afternoon sun are poor homes for the paper; we will decline the mount rather than leave a sheet that will buckle.
